It takes discipline

The text message announced a delayed opening. I am assuming this means my 9:00 class is cancelled, not that it begins at 11. So after staying up too late last night to prep for the first week back after break, I get to enjoy a leisurely morning watching spring's first, and hopefully last, snowfall, praying I can force myself away from the internet and back to the book I am reading. (I dislike the trompe l'oeil cover.)

  1. At least technology has eased the problem of finding out if schools are open, closed or delayed. I remember hovering by the radio at 5 a.m., trying to maintain that balance between fully awake and hazy enough to drift back to sleep.

  2. Ah, yes. The good 'ol days of waiting for the name of one's school district.

  3. Your book will still be there when your computer is obsolete.

  4. I do hope it is your last snow of the season; star magnolias, etc... are blooming here. Another snow or two is still possible although I hope it passes us by.
