As someone said after those snipers in Dallas, the Civil Rights movement has been set back 100 years. All this in 'the land of the free'.
Watch the pressure cooker. I remember San Francisco.
It has never been the land of the free. We seem incapable of escaping the legacy of slavery. White America has blinders on. The experience of being black in America is beyond their understanding.
Violence and murder and none of it is going to help anyone. XXXX
It makes me happy that you end with XXX's!
I live in Baton Rouge. Am sitting 2 blocks from the site where Alton Stirling was murdered. There is a public library here where I work. These killings have to stop. It is indeed very hot for this time of year which doesn't help the general mood, as others have noted. In the 60's I lived in New Jersey. I'll never forget Newark, Trenton, Patterson Passaic, and the others...burning. Parts still not rebuilt. LC
Thanks for your comment. I am also remembering the late 60s and worrying about what might happen around the conventions this month.
