Elizabeth Bishop (1911-1979)

I just saw Elizabeth Bishop crossing the road. She walked in front of my Uber on Brattle Street, where she once lived. She seemed frail. Petite and slightly bent. Her thick hair now wispy.

    1. Hello, Yael. That's one of my favorites! I also like "The Moose".

  2. I am assuming that you didn't write this before 1979. My parents visited me at my workshop a year or so after they died. We didn't talk, just smiled at each other, and I let them walk away without following them in case I broke the spell.

    1. That's wonderful. ! Of course Bishop and I didn't make eye contact because we had never met. But she is one of "my favorite people" if that makes sense.
